About the Artist

Nature Inspired Painter
Bio: From a very young age, I have been obsessed and moved by the beauty of fruit and flowers. I credit my European grandparents for this interest and gift. My mother and her father (my grandfather) were both accomplished painters. Unfortunately, she passed away from a sudden illness at the age of 27, when I was four years of age. I have been determined my whole life to follow in her footsteps and become a skilled and inspired painter.
For 15 years I worked as a Graphic Designer and Advertising Art Director in NYC which I loved. During this time I was honored and grateful to have worked at some of the most prestigious shops, with some of the most creative minds in the industry. I married and moved to Sag Harbor, NY where I started raising our family, continued graphic design and advertising work as well as owning and operating a landscaping business with my husband. In between it all, I continued to return to my first love and passion of oil painting.
In 2016 I had a dream come true and traveled to Tuscany for a 12-day life changing painting workshop and trip to Florence. I swore I would never allow painting to fall on the back burner again.
I have always recognized the honor and deep appreciation to study with favorite mentors and modern masters of our time, at places like Grand Central Atelier, NY; The Art Student's League, NY; The Teaching Studios of Art, Oyster Bay, NY; The Artist Study, Southampton, NY; and The Grenning Gallery, Sag Harbor, NY; continually deepening my observation and understanding of the natural world, meditation and painting practice. Painting is my true inspiration and gift I have learned to give myself. My purpose is to give that to, encourage and inspire others.
Artist Statement: I am especially interested in color, light and painting from life. I continue to appreciate that the hand never lies, trusting the expressive marks that communicate as a result. For inspiration I look to my own personal nostalgia and experiences, art history, design through the centuries, sentimental objects and simple objects from nature, landscapes, fellow artists, and the joy and complexity of relationships. Painting helps me navigate through the ever-changing landscape of life. My goal is to assimilate the full spectrum of emotions and life experiences, into appreciation for life and all that is beautiful in the present moment and around us.
